Moving to Scotland in 2008, Sam was immediately struck by the Scottish Harp.
Combining her background as a classical violinist and pianist, Sam's arrangements take elements of traditional Scottish playing and fuse them with cross-genre aspects of rhythm, jazz harmony and performance art.
She collaborates with artists and projects across Scotland and Northern England including Harp Bazaar, The Sleekit Beasties and It & Them, whilst being involved with orchestras around Scotland.
Sam is an experienced teacher, delighting in teaching adults and children alike. Her experience studying Music Education at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland has been invaluable for this.
In 2018, Sam graduated with a 1st class degree in Traditional Music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Now Sam runs monthly workshops for adult harpists, is involved in community music projects and works with organisations across Scotland.
